Courthouse Security

Security in a public building, especially government offices, is an unfortunate necessity of our times. All persons, purses, backpacks, packages entering the courthouse are screened for weapons.

Following is a list of prohibited items:

• Any and ALL firearms and stun guns.
• Any and ALL knives or edged instruments.
• Aerosol Sprays.
• Pepper and mace sprays.
• Razor Blades.
• Scissors.
• Tools or utensils of any kind.
• Knitting needles or hat pins.
• Explosive or flammable devices or material.
• Heavy metal objects such as locks, chains, handcuffs, large keys.
• Any item which could be construed as a potential weapon, at the discretion of the Court.

Prohibited items that are not illegal to possess will be retained at the screening area and a receipt will be given for the item. The item will be returned to you when you leave the building.
